How Energy Made Greener (EMG Installations Ltd) collects, uses and looks after your personal information. Last updated: 27 September 2026.

Who we are

This website is run by Energy Made Greener, a trading name of EMG Installations Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC538243). Registered office: c/o Horizon CA, 5 La Belle Place, Glasgow, G3 7LH. Trading address: Unit 22, Langlands Avenue, Kelvin Industrial Estate, Glasgow G75 0YG. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration reference ZB078974. We are the “controller” of the personal information described in this notice, which means we decide how and why it is used.

If you have any questions about this notice or your information, email us at info@energymadegreener.co.uk, call 01355 511105, or write to us at our trading address above.

The information we collect

When you send us an enquiry or request a quote through a form on this website, we collect:

  • your name (or, for business enquiries, your company name);
  • your postcode (or site postcode);
  • your phone number;
  • your email address, if you give it;
  • the service you’re interested in; and
  • anything you choose to tell us in your message.

If you phone, email or WhatsApp us instead, we collect the details you give us in that conversation. Please don’t include sensitive information (for example, health details) in your message unless it’s relevant to the work — for instance, if someone in the home is vulnerable and needs heating restored urgently.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information only to deal with your enquiry: to contact you, give advice, arrange a survey or visit, and prepare a quote. Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:

  • Steps before entering a contract — where you’ve asked us for a quote or for work to be done; and
  • Legitimate interests — responding to general enquiries and running our business, where this doesn’t override your rights.

If you go ahead with work, we’ll use your details to carry it out, invoice you and meet our legal obligations — for example, registering installations and safety certificates with the relevant bodies and keeping financial records.

We won’t add you to a marketing list or send you newsletters from a website enquiry. We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the service providers that help us run this website and handle enquiries, and only as much as they need:

  • Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a third-party form-processing service, receives the details you enter in our online forms and delivers them to our business email inbox.
  • TrueQuote (truequote.co.uk) provides our instant boiler quote tool. If you use it, the answers you give about your home — and any contact details you choose to enter — are processed by TrueQuote and passed to us so we can follow up your quote. The tool only loads when you choose to open it.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typeface used on this website. When a page loads, your browser requests the font from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address.
  • Our email and business IT providers, which store the enquiries we receive.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards they provide under UK data protection law. If you become a customer, we may also share the details needed with certification and scheme bodies, manufacturers (for warranty registration), finance providers you choose to apply to, or grant bodies such as Home Energy Scotland where you ask us to help with an application. We’ll also share information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you.
  • Customer records (quotes, invoices, certificates and job details) are kept for six years after the work is finished, so we can meet our tax and legal obligations and support warranties and aftercare. Some installation and safety records may need to be kept for longer where a scheme or regulator requires it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you (access);
  • ask us to correct information that’s wrong or incomplete (rectification);
  • ask us to delete your information (erasure), where we don’t need to keep it;
  • ask us to limit how we use it (restriction);
  • object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests (objection); and
  • ask for information you gave us in a portable format (portability), where this applies.

To use any of these rights, email info@energymadegreener.co.uk. There’s no charge, and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t set any cookies of our own. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may occasionally set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from malicious traffic; it isn’t used to track you. As explained above, your browser contacts Google’s servers to load our font, but no Google cookies are set by this.

Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites and services, such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Google reviews. If you follow those links, their own privacy policies apply.

Keeping your information secure

This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to enquiries to the people in our team who need it to help you.

We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
